Code of Good Practice for Scottish Fish Aquaculture (CoGP).

An assurance scheme established in 2006, the Code of Good Practice for Scottish Fish Aquaculture (CoGP) is the key standard for the finfish industry. It was created in response to agreed industry action arising from the 2003 Strategic Framework for Scottish Aquaculture.

Focusing on fish farmers, the scheme encourages high standards of management, environmental awareness and food production. Within this, all members of the Scottish Salmon Producers Organisation subscribe to the CoGP, with over 90% of production audited within the scheme.

There are over 300 individual audit points, ensuring aquaculture farms gain thorough recommendations on how to maximise operations. Going beyond basic regulatory requirements, members benefit from maintaining the highest industry standards on farming and processing.
